Ensure zero power interruptions during Sivaratri- Minister

The Minister for Energy, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, has directed AP DISCOMs to ensure zero power interruptions and maintain uninterrupted and reliable power supply to all temples and surrounding areas across the State during the upcoming Maha Sivaratri festival. 

The minister conducted a teleconference on Wednesday with the CMDs of DISCOMs  L. Siva Sankar,  I. Prudhvi Tej, and P. Pulla Reddy along with senior officials of the Energy Department on preparedness of power supply in view of upcoming Sivaratri festival.

During the meeting, the Minister  emphasized that as large numbers of devotees are expected to visit major Siva temples and other shrines, continuous power supply is crucial for the smooth conduct of religious programs and for the convenience of devotees.

The minister further stressed the importance of deploying standby power arrangements wherever required and ensuring 24x7 readiness of maintenance teams to promptly address any power issues. He directed officials to carry out preventive maintenance checks of feeders, transformers, and distribution lines to avoid unforeseen breakdowns. 

The Energy Minister urged all DISCOMs to work proactively so that devotees can experience a spiritually fulfilling celebration without any inconvenience due to power interruptions. Senior officials from DISCOMs, Operation Circles have participated in the teleconference.
