EPTRI must lead environmental protection efforts, says CS

State Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao called upon the Environment Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI) to play a stronger role in environmental protection, pollution control and climate change awareness across Telangana.

Chairing the EPTRI Board of Governors meeting at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Secretariat, the chief secretary directed the officials to strengthen research initiatives, climate change internships, environmental awareness programs, and student engagement at JNTU and Osmania University.

The Chief Secretary stressed expanding training, research, and capacity-building initiatives while accelerating eco-friendly programs aligned with government schemes. Discussions also focused on industrial sustainability, urban development, solid waste management, water and air pollution control, and increasing green cover using modern technologies.

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Forest Principal Secretary Ahmed Nadeem, Finance Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Irrigation Principal Secretary Rahul Tejja, MAUD Secretary T.K. Sridevi, and other board members.
