Police are on the lookout for former minister Kakani Goverdhan Reddy who has been absconding for the past two months in the illegal Quartz mining case. Nellore police have launched a search operation in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The houses and farmhouses of Kakani's relatives are being searched.

Former minister Kakani is accused number 4(A4) in the case. He had earlier approached the High Court and attempted to get bail but it did not succeed. It is learned that he did not even talk to his family members on WhatsApp.
