Sultan Bazar Police of East Zone arrested two notorious fraudsters involved in cheating and forgery cases. The accused are being produced before the court for judicial remand. The accused, Usikela Vijay, 35, a finance collection worker from Vinayak Nagar, Nizamabad, and Ambam Murali, 54, an electrician from Khaleel Vadi, Nizamabad, allegedly promised victims government 2BHK houses in Hyderabad and surrounding areas. They collected large sums of money in cash and online by supplying forged allotment letters with fake signatures and counterfeit seals.
The case came to light when Saraswathi, a social worker from Koti, Hyderabad, lodged a complaint. Vijay had falsely claimed influence over politicians and officials and introduced Murali as an assistant director at Telangana State Housing Corporation, assuring house allotments. Investigations revealed that they had cheated Saraswathi and 18 others to the tune of Rs 39 lakh. A case under sections 406, 420, 468, 471 read with 34 IPC has been registered at Sultan Bazar Police Station. The arrests were made under the supervision of Dr. B. Balaswamy, IPS, DCP East Zone, along with senior officers of Sultan Bazar Police. The accused will be interrogated further to uncover their involvement in similar frauds elsewhere in Hyderabad and other areas.
