Gemcare Hospitals has launched the Gemcare Cancer Institute in Khammam, marking the region’s first comprehensive, multi-disciplinary cancer care center.
At the press meet, Dr. Srinivasa Kumar Ravipati, Director of Gemcare, explained that patients previously had to travel to Hyderabad or Vijayawada for treatment. To bridge this gap, the new institute has introduced the Telugu states’ first 4D TrueBeam Radiation Therapy System, located within Arogya Hospital in Khammam.
This advanced technology ensures precise dosage delivery and real-time tumor tracking, improving both treatment accuracy and patient comfort. The center also features a PET-CT scanner for highly accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Dr. Sumanth Babu M, Chairman of Arogya Hospitals, emphasized that the initiative is driven by compassion, not profit, with 90% priority given to Aarogyasri beneficiaries. Dr. Sudhakar K, Head of Radiation Oncology, highlighted plans for awareness and screening programs to promote early detection.
