Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced that Genome Valley alone contributes to 33 percent of the vaccine production in the country. Revanth Reddy, accompanied by Industries Minister Sridhar Babu, officially laid the foundation stone for a new ICHOR Biologics facility at Genome Valley in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district on Tuesday.
During his speech, the Chief Minister emphasised that the industries in Genome Valley have established a distinctive identity for Telangana. "Hyderabad is responsible for approximately 33 percent of the vaccines and 43 percent of the bulk drugs produced in the country. Throughout the Covid pandemic, local industrialists have played a pivotal role in exporting vaccines from Genome Valley to various nations. Even with changes in government, policies have continued to support the advancement of our industrial agenda," he said.
The Chief Minister additionally mentioned that the State government is focused on drawing top-tier industries to enhance Telangana's competitiveness on a global scale. He highlighted that in the past 18 months, the State government has successfully garnered investments totaling Rs. 3.28 lakh crore for Telangana. "We aim to attract world-class industries to position Telangana competitively in the global market. Moreover, Hyderabad is set to evolve into a prominent data city in the near future," he remarked.
