In today’s dynamic world, it is essential that we evolve along with society. We must shed outdated knowledge and continuously embrace new learnings to move forward. Only then can we truly achieve success, said Telangana's Minister for IT and Industries, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, while addressing students at the ‘MATA (Mana American Telugu Association) - TASK Free Online IT Training’ certificate distribution ceremony held at the TASK headquarters, Masab Tank, Hyderabad.
He emphasized that Learn, Unlearn, and Relearn is now the definitive formula for success. Gone are the days when holding a degree guaranteed a job. According to NASSCOM, nearly 50% of graduates today lack the skills required for employment. Many also lack basic awareness in emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Computing, he said.
Addressing concerns around job losses due to automation, the Minister cited the World Economic Forum, noting that while automation and AI may replace 8.5 crore jobs by 2025, they will also create 9.7 crore new jobs—thus offering more opportunities than ever before.
He added that a degree and technical proficiency are not sufficient. One must also possess essential 21st-century skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, effective communication, teamwork, adaptability, and emotional intelligence. These should be nurtured from student life onward.
Sridhar Babu encouraged students to define their goals early in life, stating that a life without purpose is like a letter without an address. Set a target during your student years and work relentlessly towards it. Don't be disheartened by failure—correct your mistakes and continue striving. In today’s world, only hard work backed by smart strategies can lead to success.
