Over 250 unauthorized huts were constructed early this morning on government land at Tarnaka Errakunta Lake (Survey Nos. 121, 122, 123, 125), spanning approximately 9 acres. Local residents alerted GHMC Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Shoban Reddy about the encroachments. The Deputy Mayor promptly reported the matter to local authorities.
Osmania University police swiftly intervened, dismantling the illegal structures and taking necessary action against those involved. Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep and Secunderabad RDO Sairam were informed of the incident, with calls for strict action against encroachers.
Following the police intervention, the Deputy Mayor visited the site for an inspection. She reiterated the government's commitment to protecting public lands and preventing unauthorized construction. Officials emphasized the importance of safeguarding lakes, canals, and government properties from illegal activities.
