Government striving for “Healthy Telangana” : Collector

District Collector Kumar Deepak has emphasized that regular exercise is essential for good health and stated that the government is actively working towards its goal of a “Healthy Telangana” through various initiatives. As part of the Telangana Marathon-Physical Literacy program, a marathon was organized on Monday under the aegis of the District Youth Services and Sports Department. The run started from IB Chowrasta in Mancherial and concluded at the District Sports Authority ground located at the District Parishad Boys High School.

Collector Kumar Deepak participated in the event along with Mancherial DCP Eggadi Bhaskar, Gudipet 13th Battalion Commandant Venkateshwarlu, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Hanumanth Reddy, District Scheduled Castes Development Deputy Director Chatarajula Durgaprasad, ACP Prakash and a large number of young men and women. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector noted that India has a massive youth population, making young people crucial to the development of both the state and the nation.

He urged the youth to participate enthusiastically in such programS.“Health and discipline are vital. Everyone should incorporate physical exercise and yoga into their daily routine,” he said. He also cautioned the youth against the dangers of drug abuse and alcohol, calling upon them to stay away from these substances. He appealed for collective efforts to build a drug-free Telangana. Highlighting the campaign slogan ‘No to Drugs – Yes to Exercise’, the Collector said every individual should take steps towards better health and spread awareness about the importance of physical fitness.
