Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu has lashed out at former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He alleged that Jagan had destroyed the electricity sector with his five-year anarchic rule and burdened the people. The minister laid the foundation stone for development works to be undertaken in three villages in his Palakollu constituency on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, the minister  said that Jagan had imposed a burden of Rs 16,000 crore on the people by increasing electricity charges nine times and also by in the form of “true up” charges. He criticized Jagan for buying a unit of electricity from private parties for Rs 8 to 14 for the same of commissions while it was possible to get a unit of electricity from GENCO at the cost of Rs 5 per unit.

He said that YSRCP cadre should hold a protest in front of Jagan's house, who had burdened the people with electricity. He said that Chandrababu Naidu is credited with turning the electricity deficit in AP into a surplus state in the five years of 2014-19. Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu stated that during the previous Chandrababu regime, not only were electricity charges not increased but quality electricity was also provided.
