Govt committed to anganwadi’s welfare: Minister

Amaravati: The state government is fully committed to the welfare of anganwadi workers, helpers and petty employees, Home Minister Anitha said on Sunday. She said that for the first time in history, the TDP government and especially Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu deserves the credit for increasing the Anganwadi salaries twice. She recalled that as soon as the government came to power, special attention was given to the infrastructure of Anganwadi centers. 

She informed that Rs 86.68 lakh has been released for the construction of drinking water facilities and toilets in Anganwadi centres across the state. The Minister also stated that steps have been taken to ensure that the Anganwadis get their salaries on the first day of every month and a permanent check has been put on the delay in payment of salaries. 

58,204 Anganwadi workers, supervisors and block coordinators in the state have been provided with 5G smart phones at a cost of Rs 75 crore, she informed and added that pregnant women, lactating mothers and children are being served faster and more efficiently through these smart phones.
