Govt to provide upgraded equipment to artisans

The Andhra Pradesh government is taking steps to provide a dignified life and financial assurance to the artisans by providing upgraded facilities and modern equipment to those in various caste professions as well as to artisans according to the changing preference of the people as well as market conditions. As part of the aim of making one person from every family an entrepreneur, the government is planning to provide state-of-the-art equipment under self-employment schemes along with Adarana 3.0. 

As part of this, BC, EWS Welfare, Handloom and Textiles Minister S Savitha will hold a meeting with the Chairpersons, Directors and representatives of caste associations to discuss what modern equipment should be provided to the artisans. Meetings will be held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at BC Bhavan in Vijayawada. There are 57 corporations belonging to different castes under the BC Corporation in the state. The government has appointed governing councils for 34 of these corporations. The process of appointing the remaining governing bodies has already been started soon.

  • Permanent employment with state-of-the-art equipment
  • In addition to providing subsidized loans for self-employment schemes through the BC Corporation, the “Adarana” scheme has also been implemented for provident updated equipment to the artisans and craftsmen. The details of the equipment required have already been collected directly from the beneficiaries at the field level. Opinions of the Chairpersons, Directors and representatives of caste associations will also be sought in the meeting to be held in Vijayawada. The meeting will also discuss the allocation of funds to the corporations in proportion to their population. A decision will also be taken on the formulation of policies such as the responsibilities and duties of the chairmen.
