Dornakal MLA and Government Whip Dr. Jatoth Ramchandra Nayak and District Collector Sneha Shabarish on Monday directed officials to immediately transport procured paddy and maize to godowns and ensure that farmers face no inconvenience at procurement centres.
The MLA and Collector conducted an extensive tour of Kuravi Mandal. They inaugurated the newly established District Cooperative Central Bank branch at Kuravi Mandal headquarters. During the visit to the paddy procurement centre, they enquired about the damage caused by Sunday’s rains.
MLA Dr. Jatoth Ramchandra Nayak assured full support to the farmers and said that all necessary help would be extended to them. He instructed officials to complete the procurement of paddy as per norms and transport it to mills without any delay or hassle. District Collector Sneha Shabarish directed officials to provide adequate gunny bags, tarpaulins, paddy cleaners, and all basic facilities at every procurement centre.
She also asked them to take necessary precautions in view of the forecast of rains in the coming days.
The Collector announced that a Mega Rythu Mela will be organised for three days from May 5 to 7 at Hanamkonda Arts and Science College. Around 150 stalls will be set up to provide information and facilities to farmers, she informed. Soil Health Cards were distributed to farmers on the occasion.
