The eighth edition of the Green India Challenge, which has been successfully running for seven years, has begun in grand style. It was launched in the premises of the Sri Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple in Keesara Gutta by the founder of challenge and Former MP Santosh Kumar by planting a sapling along with former minister Ch. Malla Reddy . The logo of the eighth edition of the Green India Challenge was unveiled on the occasion by him.
Speaking on this occasion, Santosh Kumar said that he started this yagna with the inspiration of former CM KCR. He noted said that he started it with the intention of continuing it for the rest of his life. He said that he had adopted the Keesara Forest and added that its development work was ongoing. He also said that over twenty crore saplings had been planted in the last seven years and added that it had become possible with the blessings and support of all.
He hoped for people’s support to continue the initiative . He asked everyone to plant three saplings on any occasion, be it a birthday, a wedding day, or a senior citizen's birthday, and take this further by planting three saplings. “This is definitely everyone's need and everyone should take it further,” he stressed.
Later, former Minister Mallareddy said that sanatana meant Harithaharam and Santana means Green India Challenge. He congratulated the Green India Challenge on its 7th year of completion and added that The Green India Challenge had gained fame all over the world. Earlier ,Santosh Kumar had a darshan of Ramalingeswara Swamy along with former Minister Ch. Mallareddy received Vedic blessings from the priests of the temple .
Former Keesara Sarpanch Madhuri Venkatesh, former BC Commission Member Kishore Goud, former Corporation Chairmen Dudimetla Balaraju Yadav, Allipuram Venkateswara Reddy, Rajini Sai Chand, Sumitranand Tanoba, Haritha Sena State Coordinator Satish, Raju, Dr. Markandeyu, former Mayor Mekala Kavya, and BRS cadres also participated in this program.
