State Housing and Information and Public Relations Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy said on Sunday that the GST reforms will further improve the marketing facilities for India's products. The Minister Parthasarathy participated in a bike rally in Nuzvid town as part of the 'Super GST Super Savings' program. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Parthasarathy said that GST reforms are a boon for the common man and the central and state governments have introduced them for the economic development of the people.
He said that despite the loss of thousands of crores of rupees to the Central and State Governments due to GST reforms, the decision was taken to increase the purchasing power of the people. He also clarified that with the reduction in GST, the prices of raw materials will come down, which will increase the demand for products at a lower price and also the marketing facilities will increase further. He said that the reduction in GST on medicines to 5 per cent and complete exemption of GST on drugs used for chronic diseases like cancer will provide a lot of relief to the consumers.
He said that for the last one month, awareness programs have been conducted in village/ward secretariats, Kisan Seva Kendras, schools, government and private hospitals on various topics so that the benefits of GST reforms reach every family. He appealed to the people to question those who sell goods at the old GST rates and assured that if they complain, action will be taken immediately.
