Telangana Rakshana Sena chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Thursday alleged that BRS leader T. Harish Rao was making serious efforts to take control of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and was conspiring to ‘backstab’ former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, similar to the alleged betrayal of N.T. Rama Rao by N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Speaking to the media at the Telangana Rakshana Sena office in Banjara Hills, Kavitha alleged that Harish Rao had recently held secret discussions with MLAs from Medak and told them that KCR’s political legacy should not be passed on to K. T. Rama Rao (KTR).
She further alleged that Harish Rao was maintaining a nexus with both the BJP and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy as part of an attempt to take control of the BRS.
Kavitha claimed to have evidence of Harish Rao’s alleged links with the BJP and said he was frequently meeting a senior BJP leader at Raj Pushpa Sky Villas in Hyderabad. She also alleged that Harish Rao and others had recently held a secret meeting in London and reached an understanding. Kavitha demanded that if there was no nexus between Harish Rao and Revanth Reddy, the Chief Minister should order Harish Rao’s arrest under provisions relating to quid pro quo.
She also levelled allegations against Harish Rao relating to the supply of milk to private educational institutions and corporate hospitals during his tenure as Health Minister. Kavitha alleged that Narayana and Chaitanya educational institutions were supplied milk worth Rs 5 crore every month and claimed that Rs 960 crore was earned through the two institutions over eight years.
She further alleged that milk was supplied to corporate hospitals, including Kamineni, Yashoda and KIMS. Kavitha demanded that Revanth Reddy explain why he had stopped mentioning Harish Rao’s name in connection with the phone-tapping and Kaleshwaram issues despite raising allegations against him earlier.
