The Telangana High Court has dismissed an election petition filed against BRS senior leader and former minister Harish Rao by Chakradhar Goud, alleging discrepancies in his election affidavit.
Harish Rao, representing BRS, contested the 2023 assembly elections in Siddipet alongside Harikrishna from Congress and Chakradhar Goud from BSP. Following Rao’s victory, Goud claimed that the affidavit lacked complete details, particularly regarding Rao’s son. However, the High Court reviewed the matter and dismissed the petition.
Reacting to the verdict, Harish Rao urged the Congress and Revanth Reddy to end partisan politics against opposition leaders. He called on the ruling party to focus on its promises, asserting that there was no need to fear politically motivated cases. Rao also emphasized that he would continue questioning the state government on behalf of the people.
