The Government of Telangana, in collaboration with Rapido, hosted the inaugural Hyderabad Heritage Run 2026, bringing together more than 3,000 participants in a celebration of fitness, heritage and civic pride. The event witnessed participation from citizens, students, families and fitness enthusiasts, reflecting the city’s growing culture of community-driven public events.
The flagship 21-km Half Marathon commenced at Charminar and concluded at the historic Qutb Shahi Tombs, taking runners past iconic landmarks such as the Telangana High Court, City College Hyderabad, the Telangana State Legislative Assembly and Golconda Fort. The 10-km and 5-km categories also saw strong turnout across age groups. Apollo Hospitals Hyderabad partnered as the official medical partner, ensuring medical assistance and emergency response systems throughout the event.
Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said, “Hyderabad’s 450-year legacy is not confined to monuments alone but lives through its people and public spaces. This initiative blends mobility, heritage and wellness in a meaningful way. The overwhelming response in the first edition encourages us to build this into a landmark annual event. We are pleased that this partnership with Rapido will continue for the next five years.”
Rapido Vice President Shravya Reddy said, “The Hyderabad Heritage Run reflects how mobility can enable more than movement — it can foster community transformation. By bringing together heritage, tourism, fitness and livelihood aspirations, this initiative demonstrates our long-term commitment to building purpose-led collaborations that create social and economic impact.”
