Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW), in coordination with Tolichowki Police, arrested two Nigerian nationals, Chidi Ezeh (42) and Obasi James Victor (38), for drug trafficking and seized 150 grams of MDMA worth Rs. 20 lakh from their possession in Tolichowki. The accused were found carrying Indian identity documents, bank cards, and other items, and were supplying narcotics across Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and New Delhi.
Chidi Ezeh arrived in India in 2014 on a medical attendant visa, which expired the same year, and previously faced NDPS cases for possession of cocaine and MDMA in Hyderabad. After release, he obtained fake Indian identity documents under the name Nageshwaran and continued trafficking, procuring narcotics from another Nigerian national in Delhi. Obasi James Victor entered India on a tourist visa in 2011, ran a restaurant in Delhi, and lived in the same building as Chidi, assisting him in trafficking activities. Both were overstaying with expired passports and visas.
Investigations revealed that the accused supplied drugs to local peddlers through direct hand-to-hand delivery or by instructing them to collect the consignment. They procured narcotics at lower prices and sold them at higher rates, earning substantial profits and leading a lavish lifestyle.
Chidi Ezeh has been booked under relevant NDPS Act sections, while Obasi James Victor is being processed for deportation with FRRO and the Nigerian Embassy. H-NEW has urged citizens to remain vigilant against drug abuse and report information at 8712661601 to help maintain a drug-free Hyderabad.
