The Hyderabad City Police Commissioner’s Task Force conducted a special anti-drug counselling and rehabilitation session for 100 drug users and peddlers as part of its ongoing drive against narcotics abuse and trafficking in the city.

The programme was organised by the Task Force teams of Shamshabad and Rajendranagar Zones for individuals who had been involved in drug consumption in recent months. The initiative was aimed at encouraging participants to overcome addiction, adopt healthier lifestyles and reintegrate into society.

Addressing the gathering, psychologist and emotional intelligence life coach Dr. Chinmayee Tammareddy highlighted the importance of mental health, emotional resilience and the need to break free from substance dependence. A. Rangadham, Narcotics Specialist from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), explained the legal, social and health consequences associated with drug abuse and trafficking.

Police officials said the counselling programme forms part of a broader strategy to curb drug and ganja consumption across Hyderabad and surrounding areas through awareness, rehabilitation and strict enforcement measures.

The session was conducted under the supervision of Inspectors K. Venkat Reddy and K. Ravi, along with Task Force personnel from the Shamshabad and Rajendranagar Zones. The Hyderabad City Police appealed to citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in the fight against drugs and help make the city drug-free.
