The ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad, in collaboration with Saksham and GAIA, officially launched the Model Conference of Parties (Model COP) 2025 today at the IFHE campus. The event is designed to foster awareness and dialogue on critical global environmental issues, particularly focusing on climate change and sustainable development.
As the Chief Guest, Marri Shashidhar Reddy, former Vice Chairman of the NDMA, emphasized that environmental protection is a collective responsibility. He commended ICFAI Law School for its continued commitment to social and environmental causes, highlighting the institution's impactful community initiatives.
He also praised Saksham and GAIA for organizing the Model COP, urging students to develop innovative solutions to address global warming and environmental degradation. Prof. K Purushottam Reddy, the Guest of Honour and a prominent environmentalist, shared valuable perspectives on sustainability and policy advocacy, stressing the essential role youth play in tackling climate challenges.
Dr. A. Arun Kumar, Assistant Dean (Student Activities), reaffirmed ICFAI Law School’s dedication to nurturing social consciousness and empowering students to address real-world environmental issues. The event concluded with an outline of the Model COP proceedings by D V N Murty, GAIA Coordinator, and a vote of thanks from Setty Hrudai Tej, Saksham Coordinator. Prof. Ravishekararaju, Director, emphasized that the Model COP 2025 reflects the school’s commitment to shaping environmentally responsible leaders.
