‘If women are healthy, entire society will be healthy’

Medchal-Malkajgiri District Additional Collector Radhika Gupta said that ‘if women are healthy, their families will be healthy and thus the entire system will be healthy.’ Additional Collectors Radhika Gupta and Vijayender Reddy attended a health camp on breast, oral and cervical cancer organized by the district medical health department at the Medchal Malkajgiri district Collectorate Office on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Additional Collector Radhika Gupta said that women employees are busy with household chores and office duties and neglect their health, and this medical camp is especially useful for them. With special attention to women's health, cancer screening tests through cervical, oral and breast cancer are very expensive, but it is commendable that the medical department is conducting these tests free of charge for women employees.  

She said that it is very heartening that the medical department is providing free medical treatment and tests at the medical camp. All the Collectorate office staff should take advantage of this camp and undergo all the necessary tests, she said.

All the Collectorate staff were advised to utilize this camp and take care of their health. A large number of staff and officers participated in the medical camp. Additional Collectors underwent blood tests and Blood Pressure tests.

Later, District Medical Officer Raghunatha Swamy said that General Physician, Gynecology, Dermatology, Dental, and Radiology departments are available in this free medical camp. He said that this medical camp was organized in partnership with Granules India Limited and Swatava Cancer Care.

Total 224 employees participated in this medical camp and 448 blood samples were taken. Cervical cancer screening tests were conducted for 61 people and oral cancer screening tests were conducted for 124 people.

DRO Haripriya, Law Officer Chandravathi, doctors, medical staff, Collectorate staff and others participated in this medical camp.
