Singapore’s Changi Airport recorded a record 69.98 million passenger movements in 2025, marking a 3.4 per cent rise compared to 2024, according to the Changi Airport Group (CAG). India featured among the airport’s top five passenger markets, alongside China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Australia, highlighting the growing travel demand from the country.
Last year, Changi expanded its global network by adding 13 new city connections. These included Vijayawada in India, Changchun, Harbin, Lanzhou, Yichang, and Zhangjiajie in China, Labuan Bajo, Padang, and Semarang in Indonesia, Vienna in Austria, Kota Bharu in Malaysia, Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia, and Nha Trang in Vietnam. The move reflects Changi’s focus on linking emerging secondary cities that are witnessing rapid economic growth and tourism development.
As of January 2026, around 100 airlines operate more than 7,300 weekly scheduled flights from Changi, connecting Singapore to over 170 cities across 50 countries and territories. Aircraft movements, including take-offs and landings, increased 2.2 per cent to 374,000, while airfreight throughput rose 4.5 per cent to 2.08 million tonnes, making it one of the airport’s best cargo years.
