The accused reportedly targeted businessman Bhusa Srinivas to extort money and evade old financial liabilities. Acting on a tip-off, Tadwai police raided the outskirts of Krishajiwadi village and detained the suspects while they were allegedly preparing for the crime.
Police said the gang procured an illegal weapon from contacts in Maharashtra for Rs.30,000. During the operation, officers seized a firearm, rubber bullets, pellet boxes, mobile phones, masks, nylon rope, tape, cash and a motorcycle.
