Kamareddy police have arrested an inter-state burglary gang involved in a series of thefts across Telangana and Odisha, solving multiple pending cases. The operation was carried out under the supervision of District Superintendent of Police M. Rajesh Chandra, IPS.
The investigation began following a burglary reported on January 2, 2026, at Ashok Nagar Colony, Kamareddy. Based on a complaint lodged by Maloth Balu, Kamareddy Town Police registered a case and initiated a detailed probe. One accused, Chillakuri Krishna Reddy alias Chandi Krishna, was arrested on January 9 and remanded to judicial custody. Further investigation led police teams to intercept two absconding accused, Moodavath Anjiya and Satyanarayana, during vehicle checks near Siricilla Bypass on February 2. During questioning, the accused confessed to committing multiple burglaries along with Krishna Reddy and another associate by breaking open locked houses and shop shutters using iron rods during both day and night.
Police revealed that the gang used a stolen glamour motorcycle with a changed number plate to carry out thefts. The stolen gold and silver ornaments, cash, and mobile phones were either pledged at finance companies or sold through intermediaries. The money was spent on alcohol, gambling, and personal expenses.
Recovered property includes a Vivo mobile phone, silver ornaments, and nine silver ingots weighing approximately 89 grams. The accused are linked to several burglary cases registered across Kamareddy, Jogipet, Jeedimetla, Narsapur, Shadnagar, Vemulawada, and Siricilla.
The arrests were made by Kamareddy Town Inspector B. Narahari, CCS Inspector N. Srinivas, ASI Ranga Rao, constables Kamalakar, Raju, Sampath, CCS staff Ch. Mahender, HC G. Srinivasa Rao, ARHC (IT Cell), and PC Jaganapati.
