Miyapur police safely reunited a five-year-old boy with his parents on Tuesday after he went missing from his neighbourhood. The timely action by patrolling personnel helped avert panic and ensured the child’s quick return home.

According to Miyapur Inspector Shivaprasad, Siddharth (5), son of Rajesh, a resident of Miyapur New Colony, was playing outside his house in the morning when he wandered nearly one kilometre away and got separated from his family. Unaware of the surroundings, the child was unable to return on his own.

During routine patrol, Miyapur police personnel noticed the child moving alone and appearing distressed. Suspecting that he might be lost, they took him into their care and began efforts to trace his parents. The police questioned nearby residents, checked local colonies, and coordinated internally to identify the child’s address.

After nearly two hours of sustained efforts, the police successfully located Siddharth’s parents and safely handed him over to them. The child was found to be unharmed and in good health.

The parents, who were in the process of approaching the police to lodge a missing complaint after unsuccessful attempts to find their son, expressed immense relief and gratitude. They thanked the Miyapur police for their proactive approach and swift response, which ensured their child’s safety and quick reunion.

Police officials reiterated that constant patrolling and public alertness play a crucial role in ensuring child safety in residential areas.
