Alleging that tribals and youth are being killed in the anti-Maoist operations in Chattisgarh, BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday urged the Centre to halt the 'operation Kagar'. Addressing a public meeting organised in Elkathurthy near Warangal to celebrate the silver jubilee of BRS, he favoured holding talks with the CPI (Maoists).

"Today, the Central government, in the name of Operation Kagar, is killing youth and tribals in Chhattisgarh. It is not fair," he said. Referring to the reported proposal of Maoists for peace talks, he said eliminating the ultras with the use of force (by the Centre) is not in the spirit of democracy.

"I am requesting the Central government. It is not democracy that you go on killing people. Operation Kagar should be stopped immediately. Give naxalites democratic space and hold talks," he said. The former chief minister sought people's acceptance to pass a resolution in this regard and sending it to the Centre.

Rao, who has been keeping a low profile since his party's defeat in the 2023 assembly elections, charged that the Congress government in the state has failed on all fronts, including ensuring effective supply drinking water and electricity and addressing farmers' issues.

Congress only good at ‘Golmaal’

KCR criticized the ruling Congress party for failing to fulfill promises even after one and a half years in power. He said that the BRS government had improved the per capita income from Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 3.50 lakh, increased GSDP to the number one position in the country and completed all the pending projects.

"The current Congress government has damaged the economic situation by failing to govern due to foolishness and ignorance. It have destroyed everything in Telangana. It saddens me that Telangana is happening like this before my eyes. I am saying this with regret. Just think about it. What were the land prices during the BRS regime? Back then, there were more buyers and fewer sellers. Today, if we sell in a hurry, there is no one to buy. Where have the land prices gone?

Slams Congress as “20 percent commission government”

KCR labelled the Congress Government as  "20 percent commission government," accusing it of deep-rooted corruption and betrayal of public trust. KCR alleged that contractors were being forced to pay hefty commissions to get their bills cleared, with over 200 contractors recently storming the Finance Minister’s office in protest.  “This is not just an accusation by BRS; the people are witnessing it firsthand,” KCR said. He  also pointed out the failure of the Congress government in key sectors such as welfare schemes, Rythu Bandhu disbursements, power supply, fertiliser distribution, and procurement of paddy.

KCR backs social media warriors, warns police

Offering strong support to BRS’s social media warriors, KCR condemned the police for allegedly targeting them with cases for exposing Congress failures. He assured party cadres of full legal and political backing. "Police brothers, write this in your diaries — the BRS will return to power. No force can stop us," KCR declared. He promised that the party’s legal cell would stand by all activists fighting for truth.
