Telangana activist Sattemma, a devoted supporter of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao, passed away on Sunday at the age of 65 while undergoing treatment in Karimnagar.

A native of Cheerlavancha village in Tangallapalli mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district, Sattemma was widely known for her active participation in the Telangana statehood movement. She emerged as a grassroots figure during the second phase of the agitation, consistently attending public meetings and raising spirited slogans in support of Telangana and its leadership. Her unwavering commitment and enthusiasm earned her recognition among party leaders and local communities alike.

Displaced due to the Mid Manair project, she was later rehabilitated in Ragudu village, where she received housing support under the double bedroom scheme with the assistance of KTR. Personal tragedies, including the loss of her son, had a significant impact on her health in recent years.

Her demise has cast a pall of gloom in her native region, with leaders, party workers, and villagers expressing deep sorrow.

K. T. Rama Rao paid floral tributes to her mortal remains and also joined in carrying the bier, reflecting his respect for her dedication to the Telangana cause. He described Sattemma as a symbol of courage, sacrifice, and grassroots resistance, stating that her commitment to statehood would continue to inspire future generations.

Several leaders, including Chalmeda Lakshminarasimha Rao, Tula Uma, and Enugu Manohar Reddy, along with party members, paid their last respects, acknowledging her significant contribution to the Telangana movement.
