Konidela village in Nandikotkur mandal of Nandyal district is undergoing rapid transformation following special initiatives taken by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who has mobilised substantial funds through both personal contributions and government development schemes to fulfil promises made ahead of the elections.

Honouring his commitment to adopt Konidela village, named after his family surname, during the 2019 election campaign, Pawan Kalyan has spearheaded a series of development works aimed at addressing long-pending civic issues. A key milestone in this effort is the construction of a 90,000 litre capacity overhead water tank, built using his personal donation of Rs 50 lakh. The facility is expected to resolve decades-old drinking water shortages faced by the village.

According to the Deputy Chief Minister’s Office, the project will provide safe drinking water to nearly 2,000 residents. Expressing satisfaction over the completion of the tank ahead of the summer season, Pawan Kalyan reportedly appreciated officials for expediting the works and ensuring timely delivery.

Beyond the drinking water project, development works worth over Rs 6 crore have been channelled into the village through various government programmes. Under Palle Pandaga 1.0, three internal roads were completed at a cost of Rs 20 lakh, while seven cement concrete roads are currently under construction with Rs 45 lakh sanctioned under Palle Pandaga 2.0.

Infrastructure upgrades also include the sanctioning of Rs 4 crore for the construction of a five-kilometre BT road connecting the Konidela Zilla Parishad School to Lakshmapuram under the Rural Roads Development Sub-Plan. Additionally, Rs 45 lakh has been allocated for restoration of the approach road linking the village to the R&B road network.

Responding to local demands, authorities have also established four cattle shelters, constructed 19 houses under housing schemes, and built water storage structures. Agricultural infrastructure has been strengthened through the development of 49 feeder channels under the employment guarantee scheme, along with restoration of two minor canals and repairs to three community check dams.

The Deputy Chief Minister’s Office stated that the government remains committed to the holistic development of Konidela village, ensuring that every promise made to residents is implemented systematically to improve living standards and rural infrastructure.
