'Kotha Malupu' delivers as a clean family entertainer

Actor Aakash Goparaju, son of popular singer Sunitha, has returned to the big screen with his second film, Kotha Malupu, a romantic family entertainer directed by Shiva Varaprasad Kesanakurthi. Released on June 12, the film is set against the scenic backdrop of the Godavari region and combines romance, comedy, emotions and suspense while delivering a message about trust and understanding in relationships.

The story follows Kamal, played by Aakash, a carefree youngster from Hyderabad who visits a village in East Godavari for a family wedding. There, he develops feelings for Varalakshmi, portrayed by Bhairavi Ardhya. As their bond grows, a misunderstanding triggered by a photograph threatens to derail their relationship, leading to an emotional journey centered on love, trust, and acceptance.

Director Shiva Kesanakurthi effectively explores the impact of suspicion and the importance of valuing people for who they are in the present rather than judging them by their past. The picturesque Godavari landscapes, captured beautifully by cinematographer Sumanth Kacharla, add significant visual appeal to the film. 

Aakash delivers a confident performance, while Bhairavi Ardhya impresses with her natural screen presence and emotional depth. The comedy track featuring Raghu Babu and Prithvi provides ample entertainment. Backed by strong production values and music by Yashwanth Nag, Kotha Malupu emerges as a clean, family-friendly entertainer with a meaningful message for today's youth.
