BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Congress government in Telangana, alleging that the administration led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had failed to fulfil its electoral promises and had pushed the State's economy, particularly the real estate sector, into a crisis.

Addressing the BRS General Body Meeting and Special Intensive Revision (SIR) training programme in Chevella Assembly constituency of Rangareddy district, KTR claimed that the Congress government had completed nearly half of its term without delivering on a single major assurance made to the people.

He alleged that Telangana's once thriving real estate sector had suffered a severe setback under the present government, resulting in declining investor confidence, reduced market activity and the loss of livelihoods for lakhs of people. KTR said the previous BRS government had transformed the Chevella region by establishing industrial parks at Chandanvelly and Seetharampur and attracting leading companies, including Microsoft, Amazon and Welspun, thereby creating large scale employment opportunities.

The BRS leader accused the Congress government of demolishing houses, neglecting farmers and abandoning welfare programmes introduced during the previous regime. He criticised the discontinuation of the Rythu Bandhu scheme and alleged that the Congress had failed to honour several commitments made to farmers, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other sections of society before the Assembly elections.

KTR further alleged that the State government was attempting to justify its failures by blaming debts inherited from the previous administration. He maintained that borrowings made during the BRS regime were utilised for development and welfare, while questioning how the loans raised during the Congress government's tenure had benefited the people.

He also accused the ruling party of failing to provide housing, land rights and financial assistance promised to weaker sections and alleged widespread corruption in the present administration.

Calling upon party workers to strengthen the organisation, KTR urged them to actively participate in the BRS membership drive and the Special Intensive Revision programme. He assured party cadres that the leadership would stand firmly behind them and provide opportunities for their political growth.

Expressing confidence that public dissatisfaction with the Congress government was increasing, KTR asserted that the people of Telangana wanted BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao to return as Chief Minister to restore development and welfare in the State.
