Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has categorically ruled out any electoral alliances for the next Assembly elections, asserting that the party will contest independently.

Addressing an informal interaction with the media in Hyderabad on Friday, KTR said the BRS had fought all elections on its own since the formation of Telangana and had benefited from that strategy. KTR predicted that the Congress party would be relegated to third place in the next elections, while the primary contest would be between the BRS and the BJP.

He argued that neither the Congress nor the BJP possessed the organizational reach or cadre strength of the BRS. According to him, the Congress government's alleged failures in governance and its inability to fulfill election promises had weakened its standing among the public. The BRS leader also announced that party chief and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) would undertake a statewide bus tour in the future, with details to be announced soon.

KTR expressed concern over reports that the Union Government may introduce a new delimitation bill in the coming months. He warned against any exercise that would reduce the share of parliamentary seats allocated to southern states. He argued that states demonstrating better governance and population management should not be penalized through reduced political representation.

On inter-state water disputes, KTR maintained that the BRS had consistently defended Telangana's interests regarding the Krishna and Godavari river waters. He accused both the Congress and BJP of failing to adequately protect the state's rights.
