K. T. Rama Rao launched a sharp political attack on both the state and central governments during a key review meeting with party leaders from the undivided Ranga Reddy district in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Addressing public representatives and senior leaders at his Nandi Nagar residence, KTR urged party cadres to aggressively expose what he called the failures of the Congress government in Telangana. He claimed that after witnessing nearly two-and-a-half years of Congress rule, people would not vote for the party again and that it would remain out of power in the state for the next two decades.
KTR accused the Congress of misleading people with unrealistic promises and alleged that corruption, commissions, and large-scale scams had increased under its administration. He said public anger was growing over what he described as irregularities in land and mining sectors, alleging direct involvement of ministers in such controversies.
At the same time, he also targeted the BJP-led central government, accusing it of taking anti-people decisions. Referring to the increase in gas cylinder prices, he said the burden of rising fuel costs was directly affecting household budgets and pushing up prices of essential commodities. He called on party leaders to organize protests across their respective areas against the hike in LPG, petrol, and diesel prices.
KTR demanded that the Centre immediately roll back the recent increase in cylinder prices and provide relief to the public. He also stressed the need to create awareness among citizens about the economic impact of these price hikes.
During the meeting, he outlined steps for strengthening the party ahead of upcoming membership drives, committee formation, and future municipal corporation elections. He also asked leaders to remain alert during the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls, alleging risks of illegal deletions and bogus registrations by rival parties.
KTR urged party workers to ensure that every eligible youth gets voting rights and emphasized safeguarding the democratic process. Senior BRS leaders, including former ministers and MLAs, attended the meeting.
