BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao has strongly condemned what he termed as the “atrocities and misuse of power” by the ruling Congress party during the municipal elections in Telangana. Expressing serious concern over the alleged undemocratic practices, KTR accused the Congress leadership of resorting to intimidation, inducements, and administrative pressure in a desperate attempt to influence the electoral outcome.
Despite what he described as numerous obstacles and provocations by the ruling party, KTR congratulated BRS party workers for their unwavering determination and spirited fight. He said that from Adilabad to Alampur, the “pink soldiers” of the party displayed remarkable courage and commitment in the municipal battle, strengthening the party’s morale and reinforcing public confidence in BRS.
KTR alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, burdened by governance failures over the past two years, resorted to high-handed tactics out of fear of electoral defeat. He claimed that apprehensions of a setback in urban areas, similar to what the Congress allegedly faced in panchayat polls, led to the misuse of official machinery at every stage of the election process.
Warning against attempts to distort the people’s mandate through what he called the misuse of public funds and state institutions, KTR asserted that the people of Telangana would not remain silent spectators. He further alleged that harassment and attacks on BRS leaders and workers using the police machinery would carry political consequences.
Reiterating the party’s commitment, KTR declared that the BRS would continue its struggle for the people, undeterred by arrests, intimidation, or fabricated cases.
