BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticised the Congress government, claiming it has been characterised by 20 months of incompetence, corruption, and fraudulent practices. He called on the people to reject Congress in the upcoming by-election for the Jubilee Hills constituency.
The BRS working president urged party members to view the Jubilee Hills by-election as a crucial political contest and to work towards ensuring victory for the BRS candidate. During a preparatory meeting for the by-election held at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday, which was attended by the wife of the late MLA Maganti Gopinath, Maganti Sunitha, KT Rama Rao emphasised the need to inform the people of Telangana about the Congress’s 20-month reign marked by chaos and its collusion with the BJP.
He also criticised prominent Congress leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge, accusing them of deceiving various segments of society in Telangana with empty promises prior to elections. The BRS working president criticized the Congress administration for destroying the homes of the underprivileged under the pretext of HYDRAA and the Musi Riverfront development, while overlooking illegal constructions by influential Congress figures.
"HYDRAA targets only the huts of the poor, yet lacks the courage to address the opulent residences of Revanth Reddy and his family that are built on water bodies," he commented. He pointed out that there seems to be an unspoken partnership between the Congress and the BJP. "If that weren't the case, why hasn’t Modi initiated a single case against Revanth Reddy, despite the scandals? Both parties seem focused solely on defeating the BRS," KT Rama Rao stated.
He emphasised that Hyderabad's inclusive development was achieved under the leadership of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who refrained from politicizing religion or community. He also encouraged party members to take the Jubilee Hills by-election seriously and view it as a tribute to the late Maganti Gopinath. KTR aimed for them to operate in a mission-oriented manner and engage with every household and voter to communicate the significance of the BRS winning the election.
