Lanka Dinkar meets Union finance minister, impresses for additional fund

AP Twenty Points Program Implementation Committee Chairman Lanka Dinkar met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at her office in Delhi on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum on the composition of the Union Budget 2025-26.

He mentioned that capital expenditure allocations in the upcoming budget are required to the tune of Rs 13.50 lakh crores of which states requires an allocation of between Rs 2 to 2.50 lakh crores for long-term interest-free loans for capital expenditure. He sought special allocations under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme for Skill Census.

 He requested for Rs 10 to 15 lakh crores for the implementation of the PM Gati Shakti Yojana and a planned allocation of at least Rs 50,000 crores to 5 states-Andhra Pradesh,Odissa,West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand  through central, state and private partnership under “Purvodaya” , similar to the PM Gati Shakti Yojana.

He appealed for the continuation of the assistance provided for Amaravati and Polavaram. Thanking the minister for recognizing Prakasam district as a backward one, he requested providing a total of Rs 350 crores in assistance over 7 years the same way other backward districts have been allotted.

Stating that there was a need to provide production-based incentives to other manufacturing industries, in addition to green and renewable energy industries to be set in Andhra Pradesh, he sought funds for industrial nodes in Donakonda in Prakasham district, Nakkapalli in Visakhapatnam, Yerpedu in Chitoor, and Hindupur.

He thanked her for allocating funds for the Orvakal and Koparthi industrial nodes.
