The Handicrafts Service Centre (HSC), Hyderabad, under the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, successfully organised a two-day Live Craft Demonstration and Sales Programme on December 11-12 at CGO Towers, Kavadiguda.
This event formed part of the nationwide Handicrafts Week celebrations from December 8-14, 2025. Skilled master craftspersons, including State Awardees and GI-tagged artisans, enthralled visitors with live demonstrations of Telangana's traditional crafts such as Hyderabad Lac Bangles, Cheriyal Painting and Mask Making, Nirmal Painting, Zari and Zardozi Embroidery, Pearl Jewellery, Mandala Painting, Terracotta and Pottery, Dry Flower Craft, and Wood Turning and Lacquerware.Officers and staff from CGO Towers, NTPC, and Power Grid offices actively participated, interacting with the artisans, appreciating their exquisite workmanship, and extending support by purchasing handcrafted products.
The programme offered a vital platform for artisans to showcase their skills, promote Telangana’s rich handicraft heritage, and enhance livelihood opportunities. It underscores the Ministry of Textiles’ unwavering commitment to preserving and promoting India’s traditional crafts.
