Industries and Information Technology Minister D. Sridhar Babu said on Friday that the Telangana government is committed to transforming the State into a global logistics hub by building a future-ready ecosystem capable of addressing emerging opportunities and challenges in the sector.
Speaking at the International Conference on Shipping and Logistics 2026 organised by the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) at HICC Novotel, the Minister said the logistics sector would play a pivotal role in achieving the objectives outlined in the Telangana Rising 2047 vision document.
Highlighting Telangana's growing economic strength, Minister Sridhar Babu said the State ranks eighth in the country in the Export Preparedness Index and stands second among landlocked States.
Telangana has also secured the seventh position nationally in merchandise exports, reflecting its strong industrial growth and increasing global competitiveness. The Minister noted that the government is converting Telangana's landlocked geography into a strategic advantage through infrastructure driven development.
As part of the proposed Logistics Policy 2.0, the State plans to encourage the establishment of mega multimodal logistics parks, dry ports, bonded warehousing facilities and integrated logistics hubs to strengthen supply chain efficiency and connectivity. Emphasising the importance of human capital, Sridhar Babu said the government is preparing an action plan to develop a skilled workforce capable of meeting the evolving needs of the logistics sector.
The plan, he noted will promote the adoption of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics and machine learning to enhance operational efficiency and global competitiveness.
Inviting investors and industry stakeholders to partner in Telangana's growth journey, the Minister called for investments in multimodal logistics infrastructure, rail linked facilities, air cargo services, cold chain networks, Grade A warehousing, automation, digital logistics platforms and green mobility solutions. FTCCI President R. Ravi Kumar, Senior Vice President K.K. Maheshwari, Vice President Srinivas Garimella and Shipping and Logistics Committee Chairman Kamal Jain were among those present.
