Lokesh to campaign in Bihar for NDA

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is once again signaling its intent to play a visible role in national politics. Andhra Pradesh Minister and TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh is set to campaign in Bihar in support of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in the state.

According to party sources, Lokesh left for Patna on Saturday afternoon immediately after concluding his visit to Kalyanadurg. Later in the evening, he attended two key political meetings, and will join a massive public rally on Sunday morning, where he will address voters and appeal for support for NDA candidates.

The Bihar Assembly elections, spread across 243 constituencies, are being conducted in two phases.

The first phase, covering 121 constituencies, concluded on November 6, while the second phase of polling for 122 seats will be held on November 11. Lokesh’s visit is expected to energize the Telugu-speaking and southern-origin voters residing in Bihar and reinforce the NDA’s broader national message of unity among coalition partners.

Political leaders see Lokesh’s participation as a strategic move to highlight TDP’s continued relevance in national politics after the party rejoined the NDA earlier this year. With the Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP playing a pivotal role in coalition dynamics following its impressive comeback in Andhra Pradesh, Lokesh’s presence in Bihar underscores the party’s expanding influence beyond the state’s borders.

Senior party functionaries said the visit also reflects TDP’s evolving ambition to contribute to shaping the national political discourse, especially as regional parties like TDP seek to assert their ideological space within the NDA framework.

With this campaign, Nara Lokesh becomes one of the few southern leaders to join the Bihar poll trail this season, marking yet another step in TDP’s effort to rebuild its national footprint.
