Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stones for temple-related development works worth Rs 99.55 crore at the holy shrine of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy in Yadagirigutta on Saturday. This substantial state sanction aims to significantly upgrade educational, ritual, and pilgrim-centric facilities across the holy hilltop precinct.
A major highlight of the day’s proceedings was the sacred Bhoomi Puja for a dedicated Vedic School, which the Chief Minister performed alongside Kanchikamakoti Peethadhipathi Jagadguru Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swamy.
The allocated Rs. 99.55 crore budget is strategically divided among five primary development projects. The single largest financial components are dedicated to traditional learning and massive pilgrim accommodation upgrades: the state-of-the-art Vedic School has been sanctioned at a cost of Rs. 43.80 crore, while the construction of comprehensive dormitory halls and an initiates' house is valued at Rs. 43.12 crore. Together, these two mega-projects represent the core of the state's long-term vision for the site's spiritual and hospitality expansion.
The construction of the Lord's Nitya Kalyana Mandapam on the hill for Rs 9.87 crore, and the erection of a canopy over the steps connecting the Vaikuntha Dwaram to the hilltop at a cost of Rs 1.41 crore. Additionally, steps will be built leading to the Mada Veedhis (processional streets) next to the Rathashala (Chariot Hall) for Rs 1.35 crore, along with the construction of dormitory halls and a facility for devotees observing Deeksha at a total expense of Rs 43.12 crore.
The Chief Minister participated in the groundbreaking ceremony alongside the Pontiff of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, Jagadguru Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamy.
The event was attended by Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy; Ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Konda Surekha, and Adluri Laxman Kumar; MPs Vem Narender Reddy and Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy; as well as MLAs, MLCs, and senior officials.
