Telangana’s Minister for Culture, Tourism, Excise and Archaeology, Jupalli Krishna Rao, on Monday unveiled a short story collection authored by Padma Bhushan awardee Kaloji Narayana Rao. The event, organized by the Telangana Sahitya Akademi, took place at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister praised Kaloji’s immense contribution to Telangana literature, highlighting how his works in Na Godeva not only reflect poetic brilliance but also touch upon diverse literary themes. He emphasized Kaloji’s tireless efforts in promoting the Telugu language and said that celebrating Kaloji Jayanti as Telangana Language Day post the state’s formation is highly symbolic.
Marking the 111th birth anniversary of the literary stalwart, the Akademi’s initiative to publish Kaloji’s short stories was lauded as a tribute to his legacy. The program saw the participation of Telangana Sahitya Akademi Secretary Dr. Namoju Bala Chari, poets Yakub and Emani Shivanagireddy, writer Muchcharla Dinakar, and others.
