State Industries, Commerce and Food Processing Minister TG Bharath on Monday instructed officials and contractors to expedite the development works in Kurnool constituency. He held a meeting with municipal officials and contractors at the Municipal Council Hall in the city. He enquired about which contractor had taken up what work and what was the progress of the work. He asked by when the unfinished works and also those not yet started would be completed and noted down the details.

The contractors brought to the notice of the minister that many bills were pending. The minister instructed the officials to ensure that there is no delay in the matter of bills. He also called for clearing of files to be done quickly. He said there was no intention of compromising on the quality of development works undertaken in the wards and warned that he would not tolerate if something was done to bring a bad name to the government. 

Minister TG Bharath instructed the sanitation supervisory staff to intensify the sanitation works in the city.He expressed his displeasure that complaints on sanitation have increased in the city and asked the supervisory staff to pay special attention to them. He also directed the officials of sanitation, engineering and town planning departments to work in coordination and rectify encroachments on drains. He instructed the officials to take up 100 per cent door-to-door garbage collection and create awareness among the people about the hazards of littering on roads and drains.
