A biographical film on the life of former MLA and respected public representative Gummadi Narsaiah formally commenced in Palvancha on Friday, with Kannada superstar Dr. Shiva Rajkumar set to portray the iconic leader. Telangana Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy attended the ceremony and gave the first clap for the film.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Komatireddy praised Gummadi Narsaiah as a leader who earned admiration from the grassroots to the legislative corridors. “From village Sarpanch to MLA, he remained a man of honesty and commitment. In the Assembly, he was a close colleague and always a strong advocate for people’s issues,” Komatireddy said. The Minister recalled that Narsaiah donated his MLA salary, led a simple life, and used his personal resources for public welfare. He said such values should inspire today's elected representatives.
“Gummadi Narsaiah was truly a people’s man. His life is a powerful message of integrity, sacrifice and transparency,” Komatireddy said. Welcoming Shiva Rajkumar’s portrayal, Komatireddy said the star’s association would strengthen the film’s emotional appeal and reach. “This is the first film for which I am giving the clap after taking charge as Cinematography Minister.
I came here today purely out of respect for Narsaiah garu. I am confident this film will receive wide appreciation,” he said. The Minister further stated that the Telangana government is committed to supporting the growth of the film industry and assured that discussions regarding incentives will be held with the Chief Minister. MLAs Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao, Jare Adinarayana, public representatives, film crew and admirers of Gummadi Narsaiah attended the programme.
