Minister tours cyclone affected areas in Bapatla District

Bapatla district in-charge and State Housing Corporation and Information and Public Relations Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy on Wednesday toured cyclone affected areas as well as relief camps in Vemuru and Kollur mandals along with Vemuru Assembly Constituency MLA Nakka Anandababu. He first inspected the rehabilitation centres set up at Jampani village and Kollur ZP High School and enquired about the arrangements made by the people. Later, he inspected the submerged paddy crop in Krapa village. 

People expressed their satisfied to the Minister about the facilities in the rehabilitation centres. There were 2229 people in 49 rehabilitation centers which the Minister inspected. Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy along with local MLA Ananda Babu also inspected the storm-damaged paddy field in Krapa village of Kollur mandal.Speaking on the occasion, he said that due to successive cyclones in the district, the farmers suffered a lot of losses and assured that the government will stand by every farmer who suffered losses. 

The officials have been instructed to immediately look into the damage caused to various crops and submit a report. Officials are taking steps to remove the stagnant water from the crop fields immediately. The authorities have taken steps to remove stagnant water from the canals and ensure that there is a free flow. There was no loss of life in the district due to the precautionary measures taken by the district administration, said the Minister.
