The State Election Commission has appointed 28 IAS officers as General Observers to oversee the election process. Conducting a briefing session with 28 IAS officers on Thursday, the Commissioner stated that the Model Code of Conduct had come into force with the announcement of the election schedule.

He instructed the observers to ensure strict compliance with election rules and closely monitor any model code violations. He highlighted the importance of the Poll Management App developed by the Commission to provide information on voter management, polling stations and election procedures. He also directed the observers to coordinate with district police authorities and ensure adequate security arrangements.

Emphasizing the importance of free and fair elections, Punetha urged officials to create an environment where every voter can exercise their franchise without fear, pressure or inducement. He stressed that General Observers must guide officials at all levels and closely monitor the election process to ensure peaceful and impartial elections across the State.
