Jana Sena Party president and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Thursday held discussions with members of committees appointed by the party for the upcoming local body elections, focusing on the procedures to be followed and the responsibilities of the committees in coordinating election-related activities.
The meeting was held at the Jana Sena Party’s central office as political parties in Andhra Pradesh began preparations for the local body polls. Pawan Kalyan reviewed the role of the committees constituted specifically to oversee the party’s election-related work and discussed the approach to be adopted during the electoral process.
The consultations assume significance as the ruling alliance prepares to contest local elections across urban and rural local bodies. Coordination among alliance partners, selection of suitable candidates and effective organization at the grassroots level are expected to be important aspects of the preparations. The committees are expected to assist the party in coordinating election activities and ensuring that responsibilities are carried out systematically. The discussions also focused on the procedures to be followed by party representatives as the election process advances.
Jana Sena’s preparations are taking place against the backdrop of the alliance’s broader efforts to coordinate its approach to local elections. The party’s organizational arrangements and coordination with its alliance partners are likely to play a role in determining its participation in the polls. However, the party has not disclosed further details of the discussions, including specific decisions on candidate selection, seat-sharing or the allocation of responsibilities among the committees.
