Minister for BC Welfare, Economically Backward Classes Welfare, Handloom and Textiles S. Savitha made it clear on Sunday that more Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Gurukul(MJP) Schools will be established across the state to provide equal opportunities in the fields of education. She participated in many programs in Kovvur Assembly constituency of East Godavari District along with MLA Muppidi Venkateswara Rao.
During the visit, cheques worth Rs.4,50,500 were handed over to ten beneficiaries of Chagallu and Tallapudi mandals under the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF). Minister Savita reiterated that welfare and development are the main objectives of the government and that it is committed to the development of the backward classes.
Later, the minister made a surprise inspection of the BC Boys' Hostel and Mahatma Jyotirao Phule (MJP) Gurukul School in Vadapalli village. Minister Savita had mid-day meal with the students of the Gurukul School and inspected the quality of the meals. She enquired if they were getting food as per the menu. She also spoke to the mothers of the students who came to the school and sought their opinions.
The Minister said that CCTV cameras, mineral water plants, inverters and Coinbox phone facility for students to talk to their parents are being installed in every hostel and school. She also called for special attention should be paid to the cleanliness of the surroundings and maintenance of toilets .Kovvur MLA Muppidi Venkateswara Rao said that the government is implementing welfare and development schemes as per the expectations of the people and also that timely assistance is being provided to the families in distress through the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
