Tech billionaire claimed sex offender’s files were not released as US president’s name figured in it

Washington: Tech billionaire Elon Musk has deleted his X post, claiming US President Donald Trump’s name was mentioned in the files related to sexual abuser Jeffrey Epstein, which is why his administration has yet to release them.

The bombshell allegation came after Musk and Trump engaged in a shocking public feud following the Tesla boss’ criticism of the White House’s $4 trillion tax and spending bill. “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT,” Musk said on Thursday.

In another post on X, Musk stated, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.” In response to Musk’s post, the Democrats, too, demanded the list be released.

James Fishback, the lead figure behind the “DOGE checks” initiative, commented on Musk’s deleted post, describing it as a “good first step” and suggested that the next move should be “a full-throated apology to Trump and his family.”

House Democrats have asked the Department of Justice and the FBI to investigate Musk’s claim Trump is named in the Epstein files, Axios has learned. However, FBI chief Kash Patel has so far refused to comment on the feud and Trump’s connection with Epstein.

According to a report by The Financial Times, Trump and Musk’s allies are urging them to ‘repair their relationship, seeking to limit the political and commercial damage’ from the split.

Jeffrey Epstein was a wealthy financier with deep connections to global elites, including politicians, royalty, academics, and business tycoons. He was first investigated in 2005 in Florida for allegedly sexually abusing underage girls. He was arrested on sex trafficking charges in 2019.

Epstein died in prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial. His death was officially ruled a suicide, though many continue to suspect foul play given the powerful individuals potentially implicated.
