Muslims at Kesamudram Eidgah in the district displayed flex banners on Thursday appealing to the Central and State governments to immediately declare the cow as the National Animal and provide protection. After offering the collective Eid prayer (Namaz) on the occasion of Bakrid, the community members appealed to both governments to respond swiftly and safeguard cows by granting them national animal status. They also called for collective and organized efforts towards cow protection.
Earlier, as part of heightened security arrangements for the Bakrid festival, Mahabubabad District Superintendent of Police Dr. Shabareesh ordered extensive preventive measures to ensure no untoward incidents occur.
