BJP national president J.P. Nadda launched a scathing attack on the previous YSRCP government, accusing it of plunging Andhra Pradesh into darkness through corruption, financial mismanagement, and undemocratic governance. Speaking at the concluding rally of the BJP’s Saarathyam Yatra in Visakhapatnam, Nadda said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had “sung the requiem for those dark days,” ushering in a new era of development.
The yatra, led by BJP state president P.V.N. Madhav, culminated in a massive gathering of party workers and supporters from across the state.
Nadda alleged the YSRCP betrayed public trust and misused resources. “Before 2014, dynastic and corrupt politics dominated India. Andhra Pradesh witnessed the same under five years of YSRCP rule, which left the state buried in debt,” he said. He contrasted this with Modi’s governance, highlighting key reforms like the Ram Mandir construction, triple talaq abolition, and GST rollout. “These reflect the Centre’s resolve to build a stronger, inclusive India,” he noted.
On Andhra’s development, Nadda reiterated the Centre’s commitment, citing projects like 14 ports under Sagarmala, smart city upgrades in Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, and Tirupati, national highway expansion, 10 central institutions, six medical colleges, and ₹625 crore for Bhogapuram airport. He also pointed to the South Coast Railway Zone and new train services as part of connectivity upgrades.
He affirmed BJP’s commitment to working with TDP and Jana Sena. “The NDA government is stable, united, and focused on delivering its promises,” he said. The rally ended with Nadda urging BJP cadres to strengthen the party’s base in Andhra, emphasizing that a robust organization would drive the coalition’s development agenda forward.
